Nimesulide is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID) used as an analgesic and antipyretic.

It's a sulphonanilide analogue (say that three times fast) developed by Helsinn Healthcare SA, Switzerland; it was marketed for the first time in Italy in 1985. It is used to treat a wide range of inflammatory and/or painful conditions, such as osteoarthritis, migraine, tendinitis, post-operative pain and toothache.

Nimesulide is marketed under several brand names, such as Ainex, Aulin, Edrigyl, Eskaflam, Scaflam, Scaflan and Shazam (erm, maybe not the last one).

Take it from somebody who's having his teeth drilled: this stuff works.
