Latest release by Studio Ghibli (japanese title Neko no Ongaeshi). Based on the manga "Baron, Neko no Dansyaku (Baron, the Cat Baron)" by Aoi Hiiragi, it is set in the same world as Whispers of the Heart (Mimi wo sumaseba) and tells the story of a young girl, who suddenly finds herself in a world of cats, slowly turning into one herself as well. The character of Baron from Mimi, in that film a doll of many stories, also plays an important role, but telling more would spoil more than help in understanding. Suffice it to say, that Ghibli once more succeeded in conjuring up a wonderful magical world of dreams.

It is directed by Hiroyuki Morita, and although featuring the name of Miyazaki Hayao on the poster and credits, he did not actually have an active role in the production (but was included for reasons of marketing the film, as Miyazaki's name is better known than Ghibli).

The movie is released together as a double feature with the latest episode of Ghiblies, an anecdotal series of sketches.
