Ballymena is a town in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is on the River Main, north of Belfast. It's the administrative and marketing centre for the mainly agricultural local Government District.

From Ballymena there is easy access to excellent fishing in the Glens of Antrim to the east.

In 1991 the Population was 28,166.

Ballymena has two large factories in the area - one is a Michelin tyre factory. This factory mainly makes truck tyres for the North American market. Also on the outskirts of the town is the Gallahers Cigarette Factory, that makes Cigarettes for all over the world.

Ballymena is within easy access of the Belfast International Airport.
