A Delayed Offsides call is made in hockey when a puck has left the offensive/defensive zone and entered the neutral zone while players in their offensive zone still remain in there. The linesman's arm goes vertical to indicate a delayed offsides and is brought down once all the offensive players have left the offensive zone or have made contact with neutal zone. During the time that a delayed offsides is indicated by the linesman's erect arm, no offensive player may touch the puck and the puck may not enter the offensive zone by the volition of a player formerly on the offensive, given those offenses, an offsides call is made and indicated by the blowing of a whistle in place on the lineman's fingers.
