Blood Omen: Legacy of
Kain is a
computer game developed by
Crystal Dynamics and published by
Activision in 1996. It is a
horror RPG/
Action game, starring the noble Kain. Kain is ambushed and killed, but accepts an offer from the
necromancer Martanious to rise as a
vampire. His quest for revenge begins...
The game itself is a very interesting one. Full of puzzles, different kinds of adversaries and ways of increasing Kain's strength. Kain starts off with a trusty sword, but will soon learn spells and find magical items. Occasionally, totally new powers are granted, which opens new possibilities. This is much in the same way as its sequel Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, but Blood Omen has far more intricate puzzles, even though it is defeated graphics-wise (being an older game). The varying enemies and employed tactics make this game very entertaining.
