Long filler is one of the two types of filler used in cigars. Long filler consists of whole tobacco leaves running from the head to the foot of the cigar. Short filler consists of shredded pieces of tobacco, sometimes including the trimmed ends of long filler.
Most premium hand made cigars use long filler, while machine-made cigars use short filler, which is both cheaper and easier for the machine to handle.
