Every spring in Ottawa Canada, The Kiwanis Club of Ottawa organize a race where a hundred thousand rubber duckies invade the Rideau Canal, making it the biggest duck race in the world.

Participants buy a CAD$5 ticket which is their sponsorship for one rubber duck. All these ducks are poured from a truck in the canal near the Hartwell locks (near Carleton University) and they all bob down towards the finish line.

Winning ducks earn their sponsors cash and prizes. The proceeds go to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Foundation.
