2600 magazine is devoted to
hacking, not the
atari 2600. It got its name from a
frequency used by the
phone companies to gain access to the
switching boards (see
2600Hz tone generator). The magazine deals with everything from writing
scripts in
perl to its involvment in
Government issues (
decss for example). A very entertaining and informative read. One can find it at most
bookstores, especially the bigger
chains.
