One of the cutest towns in
Belgium, known for its
university (
Katholieke Universiteit Leuven), its brewery (
Stella Artois, now called
Interbrew), and home of
Slay and a lot of other fun
geeks! :)
Leuven is very
young and
dynamic, even though it is pretty old (it dates from before 1400), with a lot of Belgian and foreign
students.
One of the most famous things of Leuven is the "
Oude Markt" (the "Old Marketplace") which has more than 30 different
bars and
cafes. They call it
the longest bar in the world for a reason... ;)
Not as big as
Brussels,
Ghent or
Antwerp, it's definately a must-visit whenever you're in Belgium!
Leuven is also the home of the "
fem" crew...
