hooking up (thing)

Hooking up is another term for getting together.

People get together for a lot of reasons, maybe they are:

• old friends ("Hey, it's been a while... we should hook up sometime.")
• new friends ("Let's hook up Tuesday night.")
• one night stands and other sexual situations ("Will you still respect me in the morning?", "Last night I hooked up with a fine honey!", "Did you hear that Chris and Pat are hooking up?")
• partners in an illicit purchase of hardware or drugs ("I knew you'd come through with the shit, man. Thanks for the hook up.")

Anyway you look at it interaction takes place - and that's the fun part.
