My stepmother made the first meatloaf I ever had, and after hers, I can't imagine why it's supposed to be such a boring food, according to pop culture. This is her recipe.

1 pound ground beef
1 egg
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1/4 cup chopped onion
several dashes Worcestershire sauce
catsup
20 to 25 crackers, crushed finely
salt and pepper to taste

Combine the first six ingredients until thoroughly mixed. Add crushed crackers and salt and pepper; mix well. Form into one-inch-thick round loaf and place in iron skillet (standard loaf shape in loaf pan will also work). Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour.
