The Eleanor Crosses refer to the crosses Edward I of England rested upon the towns where his beloved wifes body rested. Eleanor of Castile died in 1290 in the city of Herdeby. From there, her body rested overnight in twelve different places until it reached the funeral in London. Below are the locations of the original twelve crosses.
