is often much harder than doing good things.

but Saturday's spent lying tired in bed
because I'm the me that is sleeping so soundly
and not the me getting things done in his stead.
The word for this problem is this: hyperbolic.
The kind of discounting is called just the same.
Assumption says value should be exponential,
but real-world values are inverse with time.
As both increase smoothly and never go lower,
Both were used as models of utility.
But science shows exponents disagree soundly
with what we have seen in our philosophy.
Therefore we must treat ourselves, if we be honest
and rational folk, though they are very few
as if I in the future is somebody different,
a rival whose ego thinks he has been me.
