The
result of being
separate from
England for a couple
hundred years, and the
natural change that occurs in
language. The form of
English spoken by people in
England, and the form spoken by people in
America has
diverged a bit. And different
accents have arisen in the two
areas - there are accents in both England and American that don't sound like English.
(I saw a comedian once on TV that had such a thick British accent that I swore she was speaking gibberish)
