Internet Architecture Board (person)

The Internet Architecture Board (IAB) is a multinational committee whose job is to oversee the management of the Internet. There are two sub-committees under the main IAB:

• Internet Engineering Task Force, or the IETF. This organization works to establish usable standards and protocols for an international user base.
• Internet Research Task Force, or the IRTF, is the research and development arm of the IAB. This organization works to develop and nurture new and emerging Internet technologies.

The IAB maintains a website at http://www.iab.org. An additional task that the IAB oversees concerns the editor duties for the Request for Comments (RFCs) papers.
