Here we are, another Christmas Day. I hope you're in a safe, warm place today, especially since there is a widespread cold mass pressing down from Canada to the lower US states. I also hope you have a nice meal tonight in the company of friends and/or family if you can swing (or stand) it. 

For those of us who are spending another holiday alone, here's to hoping 2018 will be a better year. 

I will be going outside today to feed my pet opossum and feral cat in eighteen degree with a slight wind. Then I'll have lots of fun looking at my pumphouse to figure out why the temperature goes below freezing despite having a heater in there. It hasn't frozen yet, but I need to make sure it doesn't during the rest of the week-long cold snap we'll be experiencing.

Ah, life in the boonies...
