The country code top level domain (ccTLD) .AC is assigned to the countries of Ascension Island, Saint Helena, and Tristan da Cunha. The TLD is restricted for residents or, in some cases, educational institutions. The ccTLD is administered by NIC.AC, part of the Internet Computer Bureau based in the UK.

Because many countries use AC as a sub-domain for academic institutions instead of EDU, universities and colleges in other countries have registered an .AC domain to forward to their main domain address.

The connection requirement for .AC is a business or commercial enterprise that is registered as a local corporation or for any resident of Ascension Island, Saint Helena, or Tristan da Cunha.

The .AC ccTLD has been activated by the government authorities at the Cable and Wireless (Ascension Island), the sponsor, and Ascension Island Network Information Centre, the registrar since 1997.
