optical mouse (idea)

• Turn the mouse on its side up to a metre away from its normal home on your mousemat.
• Get a laser pointer
• Shine the laser beam directly into the little lens on the bottom of the mouse: it should light up to say "Hi!"
• Now, by careful manipulation of the laser pointer beam over the underside of the mouse, you can move the mouse pointer onscreen!

This technique works well, and provides freedom of motion across the whole screen (on my 1024x768 display) with a tiny flick of the wrist!
All we need now are laser pointers with a click button!
