A quarterback for the St. Louis Cardinals/Phoenix Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He was a 2nd round draft pick in 1981. Over his 9 year career, he threw for 22,771 yards and 136 touchdowns. He was a passing fiend at Portland State University, so much so that by the time he graduated in 1980, he held 90 NCAA records. Despite being drafted by the mediocre Cardinals he mananged to make the Pro Bowl twice, once in 1984 and again in 1987. But being a Cardinal quarterback,(bad things always seemed to happen to them) he was diagnosed with a degenerative hip disorder and had to have hip replacement surgery in 1991, ending his career.

For some reason I always liked Neil Lomax. He took a crappy Cardinals team, and at least made them fun to watch. Sure, they would lose all of their games 35-27 or something like that, but hey, watching him play beat doing yard work on a Sunday afternoon.
