Vegard Sverre Tveitan alias
Ihsahn is one of the most influential and talented metal
musicians of the 20th century. Best known from
Emperor, arguably one of the best metal acts ever to come out of
Norway, Ihsahn has appeared in at least
18 albums and
EPs by approximately 7 different bands and contributed in several more (ie.
Ulver).
Ihsahn can easily be considered a
musical genius. In addition to being able to play the
guitar,
bass guitar, and
synthetisazor, he also an extremely talented vocalist, being capable of produce various kinds of sounds, ranging from high- and low-pitched
guttural sounds to the traditional type of
clean singing. Ihsahn is also a renowned
poet and
lyricist.
