While rowing is an extremely exhausting
sport,there is an element of
peace and
entertainment associated with
crew.
The entertainment is more associated with the people on the team than the sport, however, a crew team can become closer than a team in any other sport. The bonds of friendship are forged in respect for the amount of dedication and stregth each member exerts. My closest friends came from my high school crew team. We would poke fun at each other and have a grand old time that I never had or witnessed in any other sport. My friends made crew one of the best times in high school.
There are few things as peaceful as sitting in a boat with your closest friends out on the water before the world wakes up. The air is chilly, but invigorating. The water is calm and there is no one around. Sometimes you will be out there as the sun is rising, and you've got the best seat in the house, right on the river watching the sun appear over the surrounding hills.
