Disingenuousness describes a special kind of
dishonesty, or lack of
candor: That is, the
affectation of
ignorance,
naivete or
innocence about the reality of a particular situation.
Thus, upon being pulled over for speeding,
"What seems to be the problem, officer?" is
disingenuous.
