There is a widely recognized cliche that goes like this:

All men are created equal.

Maybe it's just me. In daily experience, I find this adage pretty hard to swallow. I know various people who are weaker or stronger than me, in dimensions intellectual, spiritual, or physical; some excel over me in several areas. How accomplished and gifted does someone have to be, for me to consider them my "superior"?
That's not too sinister in the positive, but consider in the negative: Who's my inferior? In the course of my life, I can think of 3 or 4 people I consistently and openly treated as my personal inferiors (thank God I'm no longer in contact with any of them, for all our sakes), and many more for whom I held a private contempt for the inferiority I perceived in them. I have always recognized that I am not perfect, but I like to think I know what's good and who isn't as good as me. How do you measure your personal -eriority? How do you act on it?
