Gloranthan mythology, the
Insect Goddess.
Gorakiki is associated with the
Beast and
Darkness Runes. There are as many aspects to Gorakiki's
cult as there are types of insects; some of the more popular are
Beetle,
Bee,
Locust (including
crickets,
grasshoppers, etc.), and
Moth (or
Butterfly).
Gorakiki was born to
Kropa when land first appeared in Glorantha, in the beginnings of
God Time. She lived and laid eggs in the
underworld, until
Yelm was
murdered and came to
Hell. Then she made her way to the
surface, where her
spawn thrived. Her sister is
Aranea, and they have a great
rivalry.
