The New Hampshire quarters were shipped to Federal Reserve banks on August 7th, 2000. The New Hampshire quarter is the ninth of the 50 State quarters to be put into production.

On the quarter's reverse side is the "Old Man of the Mountain", a rock formation found on Mt. Cannon. Also on the back of the quarter is the state's motto, "Live free or die", and nine stars to represent New Hampshire being the ninth state to ratify the Constitution.
