Born in 1947 in Wisconsin, Peter Weller is an actor primarily known for his deadpan performances. His first film role was as Joe Le Fors in Butch and Sundance: The Early Days.
In 1984 he starred in the cult classic The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension as the brilliant, musically gifted, alien-fighting title character. His big break came in 1987 with RoboCop and it's sequel, RoboCop 2. However, he did not appear in RoboCop 3, instead taking the role of William Lee in David Cronenberg's Naked Lunch.
Peter Weller is a faculty member at Syracuse University, where he teaches ancient history, and recently hosted the History Channel series Engineering an Empire. He also has a recurring role on the television show Dexter as Stan Liddy. In 2006, he married Sheri Stowe.
