Reason/Reaction

By Metacognizant

In a blinding flash of inexpressible reason
She deconstructed their notion of god
Speaking in tongues, in a babble like theirs
I cannot explain but you don’t understand
And at least my default has the right of the razor
Their faith, which sustained through the winters of logic
Their layers of darkness and swaddling fire
Had so many holes that nothing was left
Still not a one understood that the question was an answer
Reality set and eternally formed
Each with his and her teddy bear idol
To save from the monsters that lurked beneath wakefulness

In a blinding flash of inexplicable reaction
The self was swarmed by happy hungry hordes
Lobotomized with rusty forks and knives
Intellect eaten for another last supper
