Three students and a child sat before a glass of water. The first student asked, "What shall we discuss of its nature? Its wetness? Its fluidity? The fact that it is cold or warm? Or that it is made of hydrogen and oxygen, two to one in infinite simplicity yet remarkable complexity?"

The second student said, "Or should we discuss that it has no color, no taste, yet it sustains life? That it is the stuff of our existence?"

The third student said, "Or should we discuss how it molds itself to any circumstance, or that it can wear down mountains and move continents? Should we explore how one small trickle of water, given enough time, could bore a hole to the center of the earth?"

At that, the child picked up the water, drank it, and went off to play.
