San Angelo is indeed a fine town to go to high school in. Unfortunately, Angelo is very isolated and is in desperate need of interstate highway access.

On the plus side, it is a lovely little city, and has a bountiful proliferation of really excellent Mexican restaurants and steakhouses (if you visit, a drive out to the Lowake Steakhouse is well worth the trip).

Due to the fact that Goodfellow is the Air Force's primary intelligence training facility, I've been told that San Angelo has the highest per-capita concentration of past, present, and future spies of any city in the U.S. outside the Washington, D.C. area.
