A season starting in September and usually lasting till the following July. This is the leading cause of the oregonian attitude that "Noah was a wimp" and the saying "forty days and forty nights?!?!, We call that Spring!". This attitude was reinfoced during the '98 season where it rained for 100 days straight.

The rainy season is a point of pride to many Oregonians. The nicknames of "webfoot" or "duck" (not "Duck" which is a University of Oregon thing) have becomes strange compliments, due to this. Some oregonians will go to strange extremes showing that the rain does not bother them, this includes such bizzare behavior as never owning an umbrella, to wearing only jeans and a t-shirt on the rainiest days of the year (the "I'd rather be wet than unfashionable" syndrome).
