On August 4, 1999 I slept in, and then rode my bicycle to work to investigate a power failure that occured the previous night. The server remained up for 50 minutes on battery power, but another cooling fan failed and forced me to remove a disk or listen to the alarm shrieking in my ear. I did manage to make X work on the server console.
