Approved for use in the US in 1988 (first used in the US in Diet Rite: a diet soft drink). Unlike aspartame, Ace-K can be used for cooking as it retains its sweetness when heated. Thermal decomposition does not occur until 225 degrees Celsius. It is also easily dissolved in water.
