One of the greatest reasons for going to visit grandma up in the UP, Michigan. If you've never had one, you should find one. Check your state fair in the fall, if you ever attend. (Doubt you'll find one on a stick though.)
They're generally just a pie-crust-like crust with ground/chopped beef in the middle, with diced potato and various other vegetables (usually carrots and onions). Served best hot with a huge gob of ketchup to dip it in, as it's a working-man's meal, very plain, hearty, tasty in that "this is good but I'm glad I don't eat these every day" way.
