Trochanters- are femoral tuberosities. It is a special kind of tuberosity that is located only in the femur. The trochanters are posteriorly separated by the intertrochanteric crest and anteriorly separated by the intertrochanteric line.
The Greater trochanter is located superior to the neck while the Lesser trochanter is located inferior to the neck.
