I was born in an unremarkable old mill town in Massachusetts, USA. I lived in Mass until I was 38, aside from a brief time in the US Navy and living in Maine and New Hampshire in my early 20s. I worked any pickup job I could get until I got hired by First Union National Bank in the late nineties. I've been in the greater Charlotte, NC area ever since.
