Annual Regatta of the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges. It takes place on Lake Quinsigamond and is generally recognized as the most important sprint race in the spring season. The crew that wins is generally regarded as the number one collegiate crew. (Sprint races are 2k, head races are generally 5k.)

Back in the day, they used to decide the Olympic team on the Eastern Sprints-- the boat came in first got to go to the Olympics. Later, in an astounding epiphany of logic, they figured out it would make a faster boat if they decided to take the fastest people individually.
