A Christmastime favorite, the Boys Choir of Harlem can often be found singing Christmas carols on morning news show such as Good Morning America.

The Boys Choir, despite its name, is a co-ed institution and serves 500 girls and boys. The choir claims a dual musical heritage from European boys choirs and African-American church choirs. Their repertoire is wide, including classical, jazz, contemporary, gospel, spiritual, and they perform the work of leading African-American composers. The choir believes in the African ideal of taking a village to raise a child and the idea that classical educational instills discipline and character in the children of Harlem who participate in the choir.
