Homewood is a small ski/snowboard resort found on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. Although it lacks the extensive snowmaking, grooming, etc of larger resorts, it also lacks the yuppification found at places like Squaw Valley. Homewood is the place i was when i 'suddenly' learned to snowboard. The most distinctive thing about Homewood is the spectacular views of the lake. The terrain isn't that varied since it is small - the main problems here are that one of the runs is flat for a very long way, requiring snowboarders to walk, and the only other ways to get back to your car are a mogul-infested black diamond and a narrow traverse.
