The Professional Association of Nursery Nurses or PANN is the union which represents some 5,500 childcare workers, not only those employed as nursery nurses in schools day nurseries and other institutions but also nannies working in family homes. It was founded in 1982 by a group of nursery nurses commited to the principle of not striking.

The PANN merged with the Professional Association of Teachers in 1995 but retained its separate identity and continues in existence as an autonomous section of that union.
