This is an ancient system of combat, based on Jujutsu. It was founded by Shinra saburo Yoshimitsu during the Kamakura period (1185-1336) in Japan. This is the art from which
Aikido was developed.
There was a school of this art to the north of Mt.Fuji that specialsed in the teaching of this art. Most of the disciples of this school were Japanese nobles.
