The Paradox Cafe is a restaurant in Portland, Oregon Belmont District that serves good vegetarian\vegan food morning,noon and night. It is also somewhat of a community hangout, although just about any restraunt or cafe in SE Portland could say the same.
The Paradox is a little bit less pretentious then some of the hip and\or hippie restaraunts in Southeast, especially compared to those along SE Hawthorne Blvd. It is an example of something that perhaps could only happen in Portland...the left wing greasy spoon joint.
The food reaches across genres, from Fried Rice to french toast to german chocolate cake. And also, while being a 100% Vegetarian restaraunt, the Paradox does serve a real meat hamburger, thus the name.
