Along with Prime Minister’s Office and the Treasury, Cabinet Office sits at the very centre of British Government. It's responsibilities are ensure that the British Government gets it's wishes carried out via the wider civil service. It acts as a focal point for more specific government departments to communicate effectively with one another.

With no specific area of public life to be in control of (e.g. Health, Defence Education, etc) Cabinet Office is relatively small in numbers in comparision to other departments with 1,600 employees. It reports to the Prime Minister, in his duplicate role as Head of Government and Minister for the Civil Service

C.O.B.R.A (or Cobra) is part of the Cabinet Office.
