Pederasty is usually used in the restricted sense to refer to anal intercourse performed by an older youth or man on a prepubertal or early pubertal boy. {The term is based on} the custom, tracing back to classical Greece, of older men having younger adolescent male lovers as the recipients of anal intercourse [from Greek,

erastes, lover]. It is not conventionally applied to the relationship between an older woman and a boy. It is not a synonym for
pedophilia, nor for
ephebophilia.
