A spiritual dualism is a conflict between two opposing forces, typically good and evil, on a spiritual level rather than a cosmic one. This means that while there are two powers that represent good and evil, they are not equal in status. For example, Christianity is not a cosmic dualism because the two powers (God and Satan) are not equals: God created Satan, and is the more powerful of the two. Instead, Christianity contains a spiritual dualism, which represents the inner struggle between goodand evil that is found in all human beings. The old cartoon image of an angel and a devil standing on a person's shoulders arguing is a perfect example of this concept.
