body" and "
pal" means "
sale". The
implication, therefore, is that the
target of the
insult is a
prostitute. Surprisingly, given the
sexist nature of
Korean society, the
insult is
gender-neutral.
The same pair of words, coincidentally, also means the number eighteen (literally, "ten-eight"). Thus, the insult is sometimes written as simply "18".
