World Trade Center on
September 11th, 2001 in
New York City, and all its resultant effects upon the United States and the world.
"9/11" was officially decreed by the American Dialect Society as the new word of 2001 "most likely to last."
It appears in the fourth edition of the American Heritage College Dictionary, released in 2002.
