- "Imagine there's a bird with a silk scarf in its mouth. Every year, the bird flies over the top of Mount Sumeru. Each time it flies over, the scarf brushes the top of the mountain.
A kalpa is the amount of time it takes for the mountain to be worn down to nothing."
