Wow! After ignoring this area for far too long, a little misunderstanding arose the afternoon of November 30, 2002. I decided I better add more here to try and ease the minds of the gods that be. For whatever reason this login was tied to another user, and I was suspected of trolling. I assure you that was not the case, and a little over exuberance amongst friends was the only crime.
I am a dinosaur with sixteen years experience in the programming and analysis of IBM mainframes. It wasn't until a 20 something young man made reference about my work with monoliths being cool, that I truly had the courage to feel that I might have something worthy to add to this community.
In the coming months I hope to be able to find useful and interesting topics to write about in regards to COBOL, DB2, CICS, and possibly Easytrieve. I am also considering write ups regarding peripheral software such as CA-7, SyncSort, FTP, and DirectConnect. Though the peripheral software is more of a tool that I use as opposed to an expertise that has been acquired. I am willing to do some research if there is an interest.
One last thing, if anyone has any suggestions or input for me regarding the above topics, I would love to hear from you. I have not done any significant research as of yet to see what is currently here, and am more than open to suggestions of what people would like to see added to E2.
