Created in 1960, Young Americans for Freedom is the nation's oldest and largest conservative youth organization. Often referred as the shock troops of the conservative movement in the United States, YAF was integral to the political rise of Rep. Robert Dornan, Sen. Barry Goldwater and President Ronald Reagan. Other notable YAFers include Vice President Dan Quayle, and Dr. Alan Keyes. Once the foil of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), YAF is still highly active.
