Phrase referring to the
Scottish football teams,
Aberdeen and Dundee United who briefly broke the duopoly of the
Old Firm in the
1980s. Phrase has since fallen out of use except when referring to
derbies between the two sides due to their
lacklustre performances after the
Old Firm restored their
hegemony.
